Bio
Jihoon Choi received a BFA in 3D animation and Modeling from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. He was the recipient of an Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center. His group exhibitions include Grounds for Sculpture; the International Sculpture Center in Hamilton, NJ and de Young Museum, 18th Annual Student Showcase; Expand in San Francisco, CA. Bad memories or experiences that are recreated by positive perspective and pixel objects are the focus of Jihoon’s sculptural work. Thus, his artwork are cute, chubby, and colorful subjects that are sculpted in a pixelated style by folding and cutting pieces of sheet metal or make stacked plywood.
